New features in Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.6 announced:  Here’s how your organization will benefit

Microsoft just released a suite of new features for Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.6.

The Joesoftware team has reviewed the changes and we’re excited to share how the updates will benefit you and other organizations.

There are many new features and benefits with this new release. Here are the top five upgrades and advantages we see for your business:

Financial Summary Inquiry redisplay
With Microsoft Dynamics GP 18.6, a redisplay button has been added to the Financial Summary Inquiry window. When you click on “redisplay”, the system will refresh the data for the account entered, display the same account and year information, and redisplay the refreshed data. This new feature makes it easier for you to see your latest updates, allowing you to save time and make real time decisions.

Reverse fiscal year end close by company
Previously, if you wanted to reverse your historical fiscal year-end, Dynamics GP required that all users be logged out of all of your companies on the system. Now, with the release of 18.6, you only need to have users logged out of the company where you want to reverse the fiscal year-end. You no longer need to have all users logged out of all companies. This is an important change that will result in greater efficiencies as it will allow your employees to continue working and processing in other companies.

Vendor remittances with customized message fields
Going forward, when you email or reprint a vendor remittance, customized messages to the vendor will be included. For example, you can include a message like, “Please find attached your invoice. If you have questions, please contact us at…”, ensuring a higher level of customer communication and interaction.

Drop-down list selection for batch source
Your business can now access a drop-down list on the Navigation List of all of your batch sources, making it easier to find and access your sources.

Shared mailbox with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Businesses are using MFA extensively so having a shared mailbox has been something many GP customers have been asking for. With this new feature, you can set up your sales and purchasing series to use a shared mailbox for sending emails to customers.
