Changes for Dynamics GP effective October 2023

Back in April, we published an article on Microsoft’s announcement on their continued commitment to Dynamics GP through 2028. At that time there were changes announced that mostly impacted new sales for Dynamics GP.  However, there are October 2023 changes that will apply to our existing GP customers that should be recognized.

Changes and considerations for existing Dynamics GP Customers:

• Enhancement plan rates on renewals will increase for existing GP customers.  The Enhancement Plan will be going from 17% to 18% and the Advantage Plan will be going from 19% to 20%.

• Pricing for both subscription and perpetual licenses will be increasing. We are awaiting confirmed pricing from Microsoft. If your organization is considering increasing your license quantity, you may want to decide before the price increases in October.
  
  
• For lapsed customers (i.e., not currently on a Microsoft Plan): If you are planning on using Dynamics GP, you should renew your enhancement plan before April 2025. If a lapsed customer wants the current version of Dynamics GP to benefit from all the new features, fixes, security and other enhancements, you will not be able to do this after April 2025. After April 2025, a lapsed customer must keep current version of Dynamics GP, without support and the risk your system will no longer function.

• Customers can continue to purchase new licenses and modules beyond 2026. There will still be tax and other product updates for Dynamics GP, including some exciting features in the next release, scheduled for October 2023.
  
  
• Current customers who continue to use Dynamics GP are encouraged to keep your annual enhancement current as ensures your financial system will remain fully functional.
